A triangular shaped bandage also known as a triangle bandage or a cravat is a piece of cloth that is cut into a right-angled triangle. This type of bandage can be used for many different purposes such as broad or narrow fold bandages for splinting or for general protection and padding. A triangular bandage can even be made into a sling when fully unrolled to provide emergency support for a broken arm.

Also known as a cravat bandage, a triangular bandage is a piece of cloth cut into a right-angled triangle, and often provided with safety pins to secure it in place. It can be used fully unrolled as a sling, folded as a normal bandage, or for specialized applications, as on the head. One advantage of this type of Bandage is that it can be makeshift and made from a fabric scrap. Triangular bandages are sometimes used as tourniquet as well.

The triangular shape of the main fold provides custom support for the injured area , so triangular bandages provide tend to be used for injureed wrists, feet and head.

(A dressing is an adjunct used by a person for application to a wound to promote healing and/or prevent further harm. A dressing is designed to be in direct contact with the wound, which makes it different from a bandage, which is primarily used to hold a dressing in place. Some organisations classify them as the same thing (for example, the British Pharmacopoeia) and the terms are used interchangeably by some people. Dressings are frequently used in first aid and nursing.)
