Nursing Shoes

Historically nursing shoes were either black or brown for student nurses, that's in the early 1900s, and white for graduates. White shoes then remained one of the main colours for a long time well into the 1940s and after world war II, although there seem to be no particular reason as to the choice of colour. It was not because it was deemed to be 'cleaner', as in fact white would stain easily and there were no requirements other than that of fashion.
