Cardiac Defibrillator

A Cardiac Defibrillator is a common piece of equipment often used by medical professionals in cases of life-threatening cardiac dysrhymthmias, ventricular fibrillation and pulseless ventricular tachycardia. Cardiac defibrillation is when electrical energy is delivered to the heart using a device called a defibrillator. This dose of electrical energy depolarizes the heart muscle mass, which stops the dysrhythmia and allows the body's natural pacemaker to restablish normal sinus rhythym.
Cardiac defibrillators are also now available for successful use by first responders or bystanders with little or no training. These a external cardiac defibrillator units, known as Automated External Defibrillators (AED), have saved many many lives and can be found in airplanes, large companies and even shopping centres. You can also get cardiac defibrillators which are transvenous or implanted.
